Post cards with the term "Nooduitgifte" (emergency) were printed in the liberated zones starting in 1944. Different paper stocks were used in the printings

Netherland Indies Overprint

There was a shortage of domestic postal stationery after the war and one solution was to overprint Netherland Indies 3 1/2c post cards. Netherlands was printed in red to the left of the stamp design. "3 1/2 Ned. Indie" was overprinted with red bars and the new denomination "5" was printed in red ink.
